| Welcome to the arty side of our industry. Here you can view our sculpture gallery, gain inspiration and find a quick intro on how to sculpt with HEBEL. | |||||
We are lucky to have gained the services of local artists whom we have recently introduced to HEBEL sculptor block. They have found the easy workability and consistent density of HEBEL a pleasure to work with. |
| As available most pieces are for sale and we will periodically update this gallery to exhibit their latest work. If you have an idea you would like realized but lack the resources to do it yourself then we may be able to have your idea commissioned for you. Contact us and have a chat. | |||||

Budding Micheal Angelo's: |
Most stone or wood working tools are suitable for shaping HEBEL. Custom tools are available but normal hand saws, rasps, files, chisels, and knives, forks and spoons even work well. Power tools such as disk grinders and drills are also very useful. Bare in mind though that HEBEL is an abrasive substance, quickly dulling the sharp edge of the tools. Use old or budget tools instead of destroying good gear, they work equally well and a dull edge is still fine for sculpting HEBEL. The dust from using power tools is murder to the mechanisms inside the power tool so once again, it is better to use a $20 disk grinder than wear out a $200 one. A dust mask for yourself is recommended if you find your throat becoming irritated. |

Sketch your design directly onto a suitably sized block of HEBEL using a soft pencil, crayon or felt pen. Begin sculpturing using a tool to remove large volumes quickly then switch to slower/finer tools as you approach areas of detail. Often additional details reveal themselves desirable as the piece gestates. NOTE: power tools can be messy, the faster the shaping the bigger the mess! |

Sculpturing Classes: |
We've been running sculpturing classes on Monday nights for the last few months. John Painter a local artist has been running them for us. We keep the class numbers small so everyone gets one on one time which also creates a friendly, social evening. Here's a few few shots of everyone hard at work, contact us if you'd like to give it a go. |
